Josh Court is a Hip-Hop Dance Choreographer, Educator, and Mover. Now in his third year with Rising Star, Josh has created and elevated the art of Hip Hop at RSPA. Not your traditional dancer, Josh didn’t actually start dancing until he was 16. It all started with learning *NSYNC choreography in his living room and soon moved to working with the Art Gallery of Hamilton, the McMaster Dance Company, the Department of Family Medicine at McMaster University, and numerous other organizations and charities located in Hamilton and the surrounding areas. As a Hip-Hop dancer Josh has performed in several music videos including “Let My Tape Rock” by Rochester and more recently in the music video, “Homegrown” with producer Michael Dex Brown. In 2015, Josh received choreography awards at both the “EMBRACE” and “LUV 2 DANCE” dance competitions for a futuristic Michael Jackson piece choreographed for RSPA. Josh became an “Artist in the Classroom” for the Royal Conservatory of Music’s “Learning Through the Arts” program, teaching curriculum based subject matter through Hip-Hop dance. Josh teaches many hip hop programs for the Hamilton-Wentworth Board of Education. More than anything, Josh is a lover of education and considers it an honor to work with so many young minds in the community.
