Meet the Directors


Ms. Anna is a professional performer, director, choreographer, and educator based in Colorado Springs. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre with a Minor in Arts Entrepreneurship from Long Island University in New York. Anna recently toured around the Midwest performing and teaching children’s theatre with Dakota Players/Theatre605. Other select credits include Carrie (Carrie), Eurydice (Eurydice), Rosalind (As You Like It), Natura (Branching Out), Janet (Drowsy Chaperone), and Linda/Featured Dancer (Saturday Night Fever). For the past eight years, Anna has had the privilege of teaching theatre, dance, and music to young artists across the country and is excited to be joining the team at Rising Star Performing Arts! Outside of the performing arts, Anna loves to cook, explore nature, and play any sort of board game or card game (give her some recommendations when you see her!).

Ms. Jennifer Boyd

With a dual degree in Elementary and Special Education and years of experience working with individuals of all abilities, Jen brings passion and dedication to the exceptional needs cast. Her extensive music background and love for theatre shine as she creates a space where special needs performers can thrive and showcase their talents. As a proud theatre mom to a performer, a stage crew member, and a budding young actor, Jen is a true advocate for the transformative power of the arts. She is honored to help every individual find their moment in the spotlight.


Gracie was born and raised in Larkspur, Colorado and has been involved in the world of art and theater her entire life! She has been performing since she was young and was heavily involved, both on and off stage, during her teen years at Douglas County High School. Gracie attended University of Colorado, Denver where she studied early childhood education, and just finished her last semester at Flagler College, in St. Augustine, FL, where she was studying Art History and Fine Art, with an emphasis in photography. Ms. Gracie is very excited to share her love of theater and art with the Rising Star Performing Arts students and community!

Ms. Meghan Pemberton
A performer since age 9, Meghan has had the pleasure of working with Valley Youth Theatre, The Black Theatre Troupe, Maricopa Community Theatre, the Phoenix Symphony, Xpressions Arts Academy, and others. Favorite roles include Lily and Rose in ‘The Secret Garden’ Marian in ‘The Music Man’ Sandy and Marty in ‘Grease,’ Ladybug in 'James and the Giant Peach', and Cinderella in ‘Into The Woods’. Ms. Meghan brings kindness and excitiement to her casts at Rising Star, and is so grateful to have the best job in the world!



Ms. Kayla
Ms.Kayla has been passionate about the performing arts for over 11 years! She is a dancer, choreographer, singer, actress, and teacher who has performed in 30 pre-professional dance productions. Beyond dance, Kayla has been involved in multiple plays and musicals, and has even written and directed her own play. With over 3 years of experience as an assistant director, Kayla loves sharing her creativity and helping young performers grow in confidence and skill. She is so excited to see these talented kids bring this production to life!
